Karen Kissel Wegela, Ph.D., is a psychologist in private practice and a professor at Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado, where she has been on the faculty of the M.A. Contemplative Counseling Psychology program since 1981. She is the author of What Really Helps, The Courage to Be Present, and Contemplative Psychotherapy Essentials: Enriching Your Practice with Buddhist Psychology. She has been practicing Buddhist meditation in the Tibetan tradition for more than 35 years.
