David Epston, M.S.W. is a New Zealand therapist, co-director of the Family Therapy Centre in Auckland, New Zealand, and Visiting Professor at the John F. Kennedy University. Epston and his late friend and colleague Michael White are known as originators of narrative therapy. He is the author of several books, including Biting the Hand that Starves You: Inspiring Resistance to Anorexia/Bulimia with Richard Linn Maisel and Ali Borden, and Down Under and Up Over: Travels with Narrative Therapy.
